Hi, all. (: Short news.

I'm moving out tomorrow and flying to another country. Considering the limits of allowed baggage, it will affect my traditional art a bit. You'll see more chalk drawings, maybe even charcoal ones, but I leave all sorts of paint and brushes behind.

The tablet is packed though, so digital paintings and manipulations will keep coming.

Off to dream of farewells and new beginnings,

IAS: A Scientist's Joy by m-AliceM
IAS: A Scientist's Joy

Case file: A Scientist's Joy | Location: Phuket, Thailand

We need to send agents to Phuket, Thailand after officials there notified us of finding the remains of sailors on the shore of Layan Beach and later on a few more remains floating in the water. Autopsy reports show no bites of known animals on the remains and sailors have strange markings that resemble a kind of alphabet. They are indeed half eaten though and DNA extracted from remains links to nothing we have a recorded history of. While initially believed to be the invasion of an undiscovered species in the water, the strange language points to something much more strange or worse, something intelligent.

Let it be known that two remains of a different sailor were found outside of sea water, approximately 15 meters away from shore. With our experience, we can positively say this indicates the species or entity can definitely exit water.

Experience Points: 12

5 (Abel's reputation) : 2 = 2.5 -> 2
Total EXP gained: 12 + 2 = 14

Deadliness Rating: 3
If all slots are filled, the deadliness rating is reduced by 1.

Agents on the case: [Aiah Ramsumair/Hummingbird] [Abel Noxborrow/Burgundy] [Char Ó hAllmhuráin/ Eris]
Rolls result: Both Aiah and Char got away with no injuries. Abel rolled and got deep scratches (light injury, out of commission for 3 days) on upper left arm.

The group arrived in Thailand and examined some of the bodies in the morgue, finding some strange alphabet carved into the flesh of the bodies/remains.

2nd scene | Art by m-AliceM
They are in a motel room they rented for their stay in Thailand; after all, they couldn't be going back and forth the entire time. Too much money for that! Aiah ordered some Thai food for the gang, while Abel began looking up some information on the laptop they brought with them based on the photos they took. The alphabet was rather easy to locate on the internet, so they concluded that it had to be the doing of other humans.

Upon finding the men who were behind this, Abel had gotten a sever cut on his upper left arm. During the process, he fainted, and a mysterious shark suddenly arrived on the scene to assist in the fight? Not entirely sure where or how, but it was a good thing it did. Luckily it was only two men, which made taking them down quite easy.

The two men were trying to appease to the old sea God, Amanikable (Philippine mythology). There was a recent monsoon that wrecked the killers' fishing boat and they were the survivors. In hopes to prevent that from happening again, they took the corpses and carved those messages to Amanikable, hoping that the sea would take it to the sea god directly.

Sooo this case thing and team thing, and collab thing? SO MUCH FUN.
Even Abel was excited and now sentimental since he got to play with a shark lol.
Empress and Phantom, I lift a giant ice tea glass to you, your styles and your awesome characters.

Char belongs to :iconempressofdestruction:
